German Summer Camps 🇩🇪🌞
During the 6 school holiday weeks in North Rhine-Westphalia: summer fun and speaking English go hand in hand at the JLC.
Camp Groups
We organize our German camps for children from preschool age (from 4 years old) to mid-teen age (16 years old). Our younger learners, between 4 and 12 years of age, are placed in morning groups, while the teens (approx. 12.5-13 through 16 years) come to us in the afternoons.
The children participating in our German Summer Camps comprise a wonderful mix of learners from all over the world who spend their summer school holiday time visiting German and children to whom Germany has recently become a new home because their families have relocated here.
Group placement by age and level: As we place kids in groups, we take great care to make sure that the age range among the participants in any given group does not exceed approx. 1-1.5 years. In addition, we make an effort to place kids in groups having their proficiency level in mind as well.

While we are unable to provide sample/demo lessons for camps, we are able to share with those interested a few sample camp weeks plans, including learning objectives, themes and topics as well as projects / games / activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
All types of camp (Plus and Premium) are offered for all languages. The decisive factor in the end is how many participants have registered, i.e. whether the minimum number of participants has been reached for each group. For this reason, we ask all interested parties to register as early as possible for the camps of their choice. It often happens that we offer several parallel groups. However, if the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will contact all registered interested parties individually to discuss alternatives: a different type of camp, a shorter course, etc.
As a general rule, registration is open at any time for camps during the next three upcoming school breaks (Easter, summer, and fall). For example, in May, you can register for summer camps, as well as for camps during the next fall break and Easter break the following year. Please use our online registration form, or contact us—we'll be happy to help!
Basically, all weeks in all camps are always planned individually by the respective teachers. However, to give you an idea of what a typical week might look like, we have put together some examples. These are actual past camps, but it's important to note that we don't guarantee what will happen in any given week.
