When the public schools go on break, things get especially busy around here because it is Camps time at the JLC!
We’ve been offering these fun-filled, engaging, immersive and educational half-day Camps for over two decades now it would not be a stretch to say that they have truly become a legacy.
Our top-qualified teachers design and conduct these week-long, age- and level-specific programs that have the communicative aspect in their core. While our preschoolers and early grades are having fun learning the language through play, crafts, music and motion, our older kids and teens also like to use this opportunity to get better academically. Here at JLC, we call it “Fit for School” – we want our children to be better at the beginning and throughout the school year, and fitter not only in speaking the target language, but in all aspects of language learning.

Age Groups of the JLC Camps
We organize our camps for children from preschool age (from 4 years old) to mid-teen age (16 years old). Our younger learners, between 4 and 12 years of age, are placed in morning groups (9:00 am – 1:00 pm), while the teens (approx. 12.5-13 through 16 years) come to us in the afternoons (1:30 pm – 5:30 pm).
As we place kids in groups, we take great care to make sure that the age range among the participants in any given group does not exceed approx. 1-1.5 years.

Camp Sample
While we are unable to provide sample/demo lessons for camps, we are able to share with those interested a few sample camp weeks plans, including learning objectives, themes and topics as well as projects / games / activities.
Our Summer Camps are offered in two different group sizes:
Camps Plus and Premium Camps.

Min. 6 to max. 7 participants
Extra benefits:

Premium Camps
Min. 4 to max. 5 participants

• Weekly plans are more customizable to individual interests, extra wishes, and language needs
• Less space to ‘hide’ & more face-to face interactions with the teacher
• Individual commitment ensures learning success
*In the event of a shortage of Plus registrations, it may be necessary to change your booking to a Premium Camp.
*In the event of an abundance of Plus registrations, it may be necessary to extend the group to 8-10 participants with a 15% discount. However, this change is subject to prior agreement in the booking process.

Frequently Asked Questions
All camp types (Regular, Plus and Premium) are available for all languages. Ultimately, whether a camp runs or not depends on how many participants have registered, i.e. whether the minimum number of participants per group has been reached. Therefore, we ask all interested parties to register for their chosen camp as early as possible.
In general, it is possible to register for camps during the next three school holidays (Easter, summer, fall) at any time. (For example, in May, you can register for the upcoming summer camps as well as for the camps during the following fall break and next year's Easter break.) Please use our online registration form or contact us—we will be happy to advise you!
Basically, all weeks in all camps are always planned individually by the respective teachers. However, to give you an idea of what a typical week might look like, we have put together a few examples for you.
