The Junior Language Club offers regular weekly face-to-face English courses for early learners, young learners and teens in Düsseldorf.
We focus in our English and Spanish groups on immersive, natural language acquisition via practicing free speaking and learning active listening. This way, when it comes to school-age kids, we supplement their school language learning with more speaking practice, small group sizes, native speaking teachers and a friendly and fun environment that is free of stress, pressure and expectations to perform, which they often get at school. Furthermore, as our groups are small and their size – limited to between 4 and max. 8 participants, the speaking and overall active participation rate is very high.
Our German groups are conceptualized and structured differently as they are designed specifically for pre-school and school-age children who need support in learning German to help them integrate;better at school – both academically and socially.
We group the children according to their school grade or year of enrolment, which enables us to use the most suitable teaching materials for each group, guiding them step by step through their learning process. Together, they prepare for the challenges of the German school system (Grundschule), while developing key social, linguistic, and motor skills, and consolidating essential topics for their academic success.
Regardless of the target language, our teachers’ selection of topics and activities is deeply anchored in our Mission, Vision and Values.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) plays an integral role in our teachers' course design, and we are currently in the process of becoming a Certified School of Kindness.
In our classrooms, we introduce, foster and nourish such fundamental values as empathy and inclusion, diversity and multiculturalism, environmental awareness and innovative curiosity. It is our firm belief that, in doing so, we equip our young learners with the tools they need to become emphatic and passionate world citizens of tomorrow.
Our academic team will ensure that you receive your child’s Progress Reports at regular intervals – usually, before the winter break, before the Easter break and before the end of the school year. In addition, we encourage and welcome feedback and engagements from the parents and we will be happy and eager to share with you the many wonderful assignments and projects that our young learners work on throughout the school year.

1 month = 4 lessons (1 x Week à 60 min.) from the beginning of the contract. The trial lesson is free of charge and without obligation. All JLC group courses pause during the school the public school holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia; these as well as course cancellations (e.g., due to public holidays) are not counted in the calculation of the contract duration.

Frequently Asked Questions
There is basically no start date for group classes. It is possible at any time to sign up for a trial lesson and then start with the lessons.
First, please fill out the “Trial Lesson” form. The information you provide there – age, level in the target language, availability, etc. – is very important to us so that we can invite your child to a trial lesson in an optimally suited group. Alternatively, you can simply contact us by phone – then we can discuss this and arrange a trial lesson directly.
