Prep Courses for the Cambridge Exams 🇬🇧
“Starters” and “Movers” in the schoolyear 2025-26
The Junior Language Club is an official Cambridge Exam Preparation Centre that offers preparation courses for Cambridge English exams for children. The courses follow a clear curriculum that teaches confidence, independence and real English language skills.
We are currently launching our first pilot groups for two levels: 🚗Starters (6-7 years) and 🚀 Movers (8-9 years). In 2026-27, we will also introduce the third level: ✈️Flyers (9-10 years). The courses run for the duration of the school year (September to July) with weekly 60-minute lessons. The courses follow a clear curriculum that teaches confidence, independence and real English language skills.

Our Approach
Success in Language Learning with the JLC
The JLC’s language training concept was developed for three different target groups which, in turn, are further subdivided based on age the target language as well as on the present level of competence in it. Everyone – Bambini, Kids and Teens – receive age-appropriate instruction, and the individual wishes and objectives of the learners are incorporated within the process of instruction.

The Junior Language Club has been the language school for children and young people aged 4 to 16 in Düsseldorf since 2003.
We provide young learners with the opportunity to discover and develop a love for a foreign language
or enhance their existing language skills.
We offer a wide choice of courses and programs for learners of English and German as well as Spanish, French, Japanese
and other languages. We work with children aged from 4 to 16, and our programs during the school year encompass
a variety of group classes as well as individualized, private instruction.
Our learning concept is tailored to three age groups — Very Young Learners, Young Learners, and Teens
— and is based on their respective language levels.
This way, we make sure that each child gets the support they need.
This support is based on the child's age, and it is also motivating and focused on the child's personal interests.
Our goal is for children to enjoy coming to us, have fun learning,
and make real progress in their language skills.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
At the Junior Language Club, our young learners enjoy a friendly and fun learning environment. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) plays an important role in our curriculum and course design, and we are currently in the process of becoming a Certified School of Kindness. In our classrooms, we introduce, foster and nourish fundamental values such as empathy, inclusion, diversity, multiculturalism, environmental awareness and innovative curiosity. All of our teachers speak English, German, Spanish or other target languages at native-level fluency. At JLC, we offer courses designed for children and teens aged 4 to 16. Students are grouped by age and developmental stage to ensure the best possible learning environment.

Groups at JLC are carefully organized by age, typically with a maximum age range of one to one and a half years. This ensures optimal learning conditions and positive group dynamics.

Referral Bonus:

Early Bird Discount:
Early booking discounts are available for the Easter, summer, and fall vacation camps. Participants who register by a certain date (e.g., March 1 for Easter camps) will receive a discount on the camp fee.
Sibling Discount:
A 10% discount is offered for the second and subsequent siblings who register at the same time.
Pay-in-Full Discount:
Receive a discount of approximately 5% when you pay the course fee in full in advance for group courses.
